With a winner-take-all ranked ballot, he Australian Labor Party has been handed 58.7% of the seats and 100% of the power with just 34.7% of the vote.

    This is a highly misleading post.

    They are only counting first preferences in a ranked choice system. If you check the 2 party preferred ( if voters ONLY had 2 choices, it’s 54% majority https://tallyroom.aec.gov.au/HouseDefault-31496.htm)

      It is not as the greens are not represented in the Australian parliament even though they received 12.2% of the vote.

    This is a misleading post. Even operating entirely within the flawed framework of electoral politics, the ALP does not have 100% of the power in the government, as Australia has a bicameral parliament and Labor does not control enough senate seats to pass its own legislation without the assistance of other parties/independent senators.
