I’m curious what they mean about this “12 month restriction”. Currently it takes 24 months of a class 7 (N) to be eligible for a full class 5. Is this lowering the bar further, or is it extending it to 36 months?

The public transit needs to massively improve in BC before we start taking out the stick.

We should not disenfranchise poor people when we do not have bus connections from the smaller towns. How can they get to Victoria to protest for better public transit if they cannot leave their small town in the first place. You clearly do not understand the reality here.

Can’t even have a hope of getting a job or lifting yourself up without a car in BC and Canada in general. Walking around towns in BC is slightly suicidal. Most only recently bothered to put in sidewalks, but that just designates where you dump show in the winter

It’s more rigid than what I have in my area in the US. God I wish we had drivers like in BC.

Public Safety Minister Garry Begg says the changes, if approved, will see new drivers get “on-road experience” and be subject to a 12-month restriction rather than be required to take another test to get their Class 5 licence.
