We are not funded by a media company, big tech, government affiliations nor institutional investors - we are supported by our subscribers and a small group of individual investors who care about the problem personally.

Right. Fair enough. But ground news aggregates all the others the shows you the speciality, bias, and view that readers get.
It helps me when talking with people and reading my own news to have a viewpoint that’s outside of the individual article.
The
problemreality is that most people read the major news sources, Canada.com, National Post, Toronto Sun, Calgary Herald, Ottawa citizen etc. everyone would assume these are Canadian media outlets when they’re not.The other thing with it is that it lets me see how other countries are viewing the news in other nations, such as in the Hindu times when Carney won the Prime Minister position.
There are things that we as Canadians jacked into our own media that we just don’t see.
I understand where you’re coming from, but for me the site opens up a whole new access to information that I never had before.
My opinion: I agree with these points. It’s nice having a news aggregator. It’s simple and free and gives a generous amount of sources for each news story
I’ve got a lot on my plate and curating news feeds is a low priority
