Hi all! Been thinking of making this community for a few days now seeing there weren’t any Flexitarian communities on Lemmy.
I’ve been trying to go vegan for some time now, but it’s been a bit of a struggle balancing out the diet and other personal values I hold. Tariffs have gotten me wanting to purchase more stuff made here in Canada, which has made utilizing some vegan substitutes a pain, and it pains me seeing foods made with meat go to waste, as it feels as though an animal would have died for nothing, let alone what I perceive to be people’s selfish desire for meat at the expense of an animal’s life and suffering.
My reasons may differ from others, and I really hope that this community can foster some genuine, respectful conversation as to what reasons people follow flexitarianism, and the differences in lifestyle choices people make and why. I hope to make this community one that fosters positive vibes and interactions, and look forward to seeing what others have to share!
