According to 338Canada the liberals are likely to have comfortable majority of the seats.
The media landscape gives Pierre Poilievre and Mark Carney too much attention. We must cover all the political beliefs of Canada.
That is not the fight we are having now. Preserve the country first. And we weaken ourselves with a minority government.
Minority governments are much more productive in addressing issues.
Ones where NDP have more power is when the government is more productive. Having said that, now is not the time to gamble and risk maple maga winning
The problem is it’s never going to be the right time. Neoliberalism will continue to worsen our levels of apathy until they are the same as our neighbours to the south, and eventually populism will take over here too.
The NDP maintaining some semblance of leverage is the only thing holding us back from the brink.
Maybe I’m being pessimistic, but I don’t see any way out.

Usually I would side with you and agree that minority governments is optimal with our First Past The Post system.
Currently however I see the potential for PP winning by splitting votes to be too risky.
I’d prefer voting for NDP as they typically support the majority working class but having PP win by splitting the vote is a chance I’m not willing to take.
I’m in Victoria, BC and I’ll vote NDP for you, you vote Liberal if it’s a contest bt Lib and Con MPs. Even if Lib and NDP MPs split votes here, our riding won’t go conservative.

I admit, I had to look up Liz White. I’m not sure why you bothered to include someone who manages less than 250 votes while ignoring the dozen other party leaders with similarly limited support.
She has an interesting perspective but, like other micro-parties, the Animal Protection Party is not likely to meaningfully contribute to a minority government (even with proportional representation)
Good message for Saanich, Winnipeg Centre, Vancouver East or a handful of others, but elsewhere not a chance, this time around.

I don’t think he wants to do anything at all with electoral reform given the prevous track record of the liberals promising it and the eagerness for conservatives to find slander. If asked my guess is he would give a “this isn’t Canada’s biggest issue right now” type response.
Yup, too many of the powerful few always claim it’s never the right time for electoral reform.
I could see him supporting it while running for a second term. I doubt he would want to do more than 2 terms and it would be an excellent parting gift to Canadians. It would be great if we could have leaders who recognize the issues with some voters feeling like they have to vote strategically and try to fix that with electoral reform. Many politicians would rather stick to the game they know of being better than the other candidiate than learn how to make competitive platforms and push for new solutions.
He’s gotta win a difficult election and unfortunately winning isn’t done on a slate of issues when the electorate is laser focused on a couple. He’s found a good thread on Trump and the economy and he’s hammering those into people’s heads. That’s a good strategy that seems to be working. I wish electoral reform was still a top issue in this race but it doesn’t seem to be and I’m afraid him bringing it up might be counterproductive given the trauma from Trudeau on this file. I hope we can bring this issue to the forefront when a Carney government falls in the need of PR itself. Unlike Trudeau who was ideologically opposed to it, I think there is a decent chance Carney the pragmatist might do a reform to save his ass.
E: To clarify, Carney’s win is not assured at all. There’s plenty of shit that can go down over the next two weeks which can make this a tossup or even a likely PP.
