Still too low. $17/hour let’s you apply for an apt with a monthly rent of $906 or less. Most require 3x rent in order to apply.

17x40x4=$2,720 monthly income 2,720÷3=$906.67 max monthly rent

In 2021, the House passed legislation to raise the minimum from $7.25 to $15 an hour, but it failed in the Senate despite a slim Democratic majority after eight centrist Democrats voted against the measure.

And would happen again because the party is addicted to losing.

Just to be clear, this means that enough House Republicans defected to pass the bill but Senate Democrats killed it. These guys are literally worse than Republicans.

You’re still thinking Bernie expects this to pass, and he isn’t going to use it against them once they block it.

This is ammo for the 2026 and 2028 pocket.

“Hey remember when Republicans shot down my notion of raising minimum wage to $17/h?!”

      “They what!?”

      “Those fuckers!”

If that strategy ever worked Bernie would’ve been president in 2016. Hell I just pointed out he tried it in 2021 and it hasn’t yielded shit.

Republicans don’t care about voting history, they care about the R next to a candidate on the ballot. You could tell them that their Rep voted aginast securing them a better life, and they’d tell you “Sounds like commie talk, MAGA!!” And if you show a canidate who would give them a better life, they’d just say something about wokeism or whatever, and then claim they know what’s best for America.

Democrats won’t care about a Republican’s voting history, because they’re not going to vote for a Republican.

Voting records don’t really do anything for Republican dipshits.

That’s still a sad minimum wage. MIT clearly calculates a more realistic minimum wage for each state and county nationwide. Any place I’ve looked at in the past 5 years has been 20+ usually 20-26 but even saying that doesn’t matter. And lasted I looked into the calculations they were based on a no-life lifestyle, and no processed food.

Minimum wage is something no one should budge on. If inflation happens minimum wage adjusts.

That is why it is so important that of/when a minimum wage hike happens that tied with it is an periodic inflationary based raise is attached to the bill.

My state rejected to adjust minimum wage to the cost of living index. It would have yearly adjusted the wage with the cost of rent, food, healthcare, etc. and then still allow it to be increased by other means.

I still am blundered by this, but I know corporate and republican propaganda got to them.

We should double what we ask for minimum wage every time we get told no.

UBI supporters: what happened to the minimum wage is the future of any UBI.

I’m really afraid the DNC is just using Bernie again to try to funnel votes to Neoliberal canidates, and that Bernie secretly isn’t a progressive. :c

I know his history i was a huge fan

I’m talking about him bending the knee to the DNC Neoliberals in 2016 when he could have stayed in and won the presidency instead of fucking 10 more years of fascists/neoliberal fascists.

Watch what he does now closely, if he tells us to vote for Democrats again we are FUCKED

He would not have won the presidency, the system is rigged to be two party only and he would have utterly destroyed his career. Knowing the man he will always go for the harm reduction option.

I wonder if you can compare what happened to teddy Roosevelt and Bernie’s case

the system is rigged to be two party only

If the system is rigged, why not protest for fix the thing that is rigged and not after the fact when the rigged thing isn’t in your favor?

Your complacency is what’s perpetuating this rigged system, yet you all think your “party” is going to fix it when they’re both only looking out for themselves.

Well it sure is good we went for harm reduction so Hillary won instead…

            Oh wait

Also Teddy didn’t get elected, he was VP when McKinley was assisnated, and he would have never gotten elected for a second term if he wasn’t already in power.

This is why the DNC won’t even let a progressive be VP.

Spoiler then, he will tell us to vote for Democrats - that’s not a conspiracy, that’s literally our only option out of this. I don’t want it either but get out of your bubble a bit if you really think this is a conspiracy, it’s not healthy

And then 4 more years of Neoliberals doing nothing to push our society to the left, then people get frustrated and Republicans win again.

The ratchet keeps clicking to the right and idiots keep making exuces to never free themselves from the Duopoly.
