It seems weird that they describe PR as vulnerable to fringe parties when we’ve got front row seats for two party FPTP allowing fascists to get all the power…

The title is a bit misleading based on his quote in the video.

You’re right, that is in the video description. The actual video shows Trudeau talking about it though and he doesn’t say it’s his biggest regret. He does say “I do wish we had been able to change the way we elect our governments in this country…” That is different than saying"My biggest regret is not changing the way we elect our governments in this country…"

That’s totally understandable. I’m just pointing out for anyone that reads the comments that the source is a bit misleading. FWIW, I wish he did follow through on electoral reform

Me too. That’s why I advocate for proportional representation!

“Biggest regret” this guy is still in charge right? Like he could still pass it if he wanted to right?

Mark Carney has been Prime Minister for almost 2 weeks, and parliament is not in session. Had Trudeau called back parliament, the Conservatives would have forced an election and we would be right back where we are now.

Nope no he’s not. He shuffled off for what two weeks now?

Edit to Add: We gotta be vocal about ending FPTP. Shoot I know the liberals picked Carney by ranked choice. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

We gotta be vocal about ending FPTP

We have to be vocal about getting proportional representation, let’s not fall into that 2015 trap again.

Shoot I know the liberals picked Carney by ranked choice

I think IRV actually makes the most sense for single member “districts” (in this case, for a single leadership role). But a true democracy deserves proportional representation.
