“The U.S. Travel Association says Canada is the top source of international visitors to the United States and just a 10 per cent reduction in Canadian travel could result in $2.1 billion US in lost spending – New York is one of the most visited states.”
Anecdotal, but a bunch of people I know who I assumed DGAF suddenly declare they’re never going stateside again.
Far larger than one might think. This ain’t normal.
From what i hear 10% reduction is a positive estimate, it will more likely be a 80-90% reduction.
Yes as I understand it snowbirds are all selling their properties down south, flooding the market with for sale properties. That will bring down the value of properties just because of Capitalism Baby! Which in turn will bring down property taxes and those area’s will see great losses in revenue.
This leads to less money being invested in areas that need the investment and eventually less money going to the areas that do not need the investment but get it anyways. Which in turn leads to less money being invested in the market which leads to recession.
Recession if Trump and his billionaire buddies decide to stop this poop before it gets to far out of hand. I do not see Trump telling his buddies he is going to stop fixing the market for them to short stocks so depression baby!
Yes, the mildly apathetic have become surprisingly emphatic.
We’ll just have to see if there’s long-lasting resolve.
Yeah I did not see this movement being this proud, I thought it would mostly be Lefties bitching on social media as we normally do when we want change.
Yesterday I was out and a bout earlier in the morning and I felt so good seeing the Tim Hortons drive through line ups not existing, maybe one or two vehicles (one or two to many but still).
Elbows Up.
Well, now that Canada is a US state, Canadians can stay home to visit the US. Right?
