What even are his plans that are going to help “boots” people like me? Cutting overtime, privatizing healthcare, joining the US, and using government funding to build a shitload of low income housing and enrich a bunch of huge construction companies? I’m genuinely asking here. It seems like he’s acting like carbon tax is the be all end all

Literally that. He wants to privitize healthcare, cut social programs and corporate taxes, has shown strong signs of capitulation to the USA, etc. His campaign manager is a Loblaws lobbyist and vocal MAGA-hat wearing Trump supporter.

Even the carbon tax has been proven around the world not to cause inflation and no more carbon rebate is a loss for Canadians. But people drank Poilievre’s baseless lies that “axing the tax” is a silver bullet for cost of living and so keeping it is political suicide.

Pierre does not plan to build government low income housing, however, which would actually help the housing market and Canadians.

By now, it is clear that the housing market will not fix the problems it has created. Affordable, public housing built for, well, housing instead of as an investment vehicle pays off and was done by Canada and around the world until recent decades when commodified housing took off from neoliberal policies.

When Canadians can afford housing, they spend more productively than paying down mortgage interest or rent. This comes back around and pays off for everybody.

      Edit: And when someone is

So far he’s proposed to give more tax cuts than the Liberals. The day after the Liberals promised a $6 billion tax cut for low and middle income earners, PP promised a $14billion tax cut, without saying how he’d do it. If he cut dentalcare, pharmacare, childcare, and the CBC completely (all programs he’s described as wasteful), he’d still be $1billion short of paying for that tax cut.

He’s promised to get more homes built by cutting federal funding to cities that don’t build 15% more homes than they did last year, not charging GST on new builds, and selling government property to be converted into apartments.

Other than that his talking points are mostly about capping immigration and securing the border.

Canada only has two borders. A 8,891 km one with the US, the longest border in the world, and a 1.28 km one with Denmark, the third shortest in the world. PP wants to secure the long one with military troops, drones, and helicopters. Getting a security clearance so he can review actual threats isn’t on his list though.

Instantly lost any faith (never had any for him anyways) learning about his campaign manager being a Loblaws shill. Clearly corporate bullshit will follow this prick and nothing good will ever come from him. 0 trust in anything he says.

I don’t have the artistic talent, but a drawing of PP, Cheeto Mussolini and Putin in a human centipede except they have their heads up each others asses.
