I keep seeing this image and I’m not sure why it’s so compelling. Anyone care to take a stab at explaining?

I’ve seen the Tumblr post a bunch of times, but never the original image. The monolith has actual texture and doesn’t just look like a red fill rectangle.
I attempted more pixels to one up your comment … but I got banished to the never ending wastelands the OP first described … what showed only a few minutes reaction time to post a comment lasted about 340 years for me.
