“Canada is a tariff abuser” — tariff abuser
“we don’t your Energy”
Sometimes I misspelled or left words out as well when I was too emotional to be writing.
The kitchen I work in is in a state bordering Canada. We use Canadian meat produced less than two hours away from our storefront on family farms, not some massive agriculture conglomerate. We know these people on a first name basis and have bought from them for well over a decade.
That might have to stop. We’ve already seen our prices go up 25% in the last month because these families have to compensate for the stupid fucking tariffs levied on them for shipping product less than two hours away.
We need these Canadian products because there is no state-side alternative that doesn’t require us to kiss corpo ass or use inferior product at a higher cost. Trump’s bullshit is not only hurting the farms we rely on, but hurting us as well from the loss in sales we see from price jumps. The fact people voted this simpleton into office knowing shit like this was going to happen is infuriating beyond words.

your not even allowed to do that
Their defiantly aloud to do that.
I can’t get over how horribly basic this phrase is. Do you think orange egg man dictated or penned this personally ??
They due that alot!
I’m pretty sure it’s there write too due that.
*they’re rite two doe
It really hertz two read awl these replies.
I don’t think Trump realises that we buy more cars and parts from the US than vice versa. I imagine if US manufacturers do leave, Canada will just pivot to EU and Asian brands. I’d love to see Renault, Citreon, and BYD here.
So we lose 30,000 or so jobs up here, while Ford, GM et al, who are already in a precarious position, need to be bailed out again. The capital costs of this kind of restructuring will be eye watering. This could be a spectacular own goal. Ford and GM are already in debt up to their eyeballs. And the future might not be so rosy for Tesla.
Also, if he’s serious about relocating Aluminium production back to the US, he is really going to need those Canadian energy imports.
I’d offer him an egg in this trying time, but…
Yes, I never understood why the French brands aren’t present in Quebec. They make more reasonably sized cars anyway.
The americans asked us to keep their competitors out, probably. Although I believe CETA eliminated those tarrifs so you might start seeing them around. I always loved that shitty little Citreon C3.
I imagine if US manufacturers do leave, Canada will just pivot to EU and Asian brands.
I would love to buy an EV, but our only options in Canada are US brands. The Chinese EVs are more efficient, longer range, and cheaper (if it didn’t have 100% tariff on it). The only reason the tariffs are on those cars is to help protect the US auto markets.
I think it’s safe to say the USA is no longer our friend and we owe them jack shit at this point. Remove the Chinese EV tariffs, bring in these cheap EVs, and we can move away from oil sooner.
Kia and Hyundai are both Korean and sell EVs in Canada.
I’d love to see Renault, Citreon, and BYD here.
I guess China’s somewhat different approach to establishing a leader personality cult, intimidating its neighbours and suppressing women & minorities is… paying off?
Well, it’s certainly a shitty choice to be forced to make, that’s for sure.
Honestly? Regardless of BYD running an out of country sweatshop (which quite a few American companies have been caught doing), if there wasn’t a 100% tariff on them I would heavily consider trading in my hybrid escape for a byd. Looking at the website most of their models are very close to my range requirements (I need ~650km range in the winter to do a Costco daytrip - and yes, the cost savings do in fact justify the gas, but a hotel room breaks even on cost, so we only overnight for medical appointments), and their SUVs do have roof rails (something I regret not having on my escape because my spouse likes camping).
Other than that, my only vehicle requirements are having more headroom than a Japanese vehicle (I literally have to compress my spine to touch the roof a comfortable amount, in a sequoia, which is a beast of an SUV), and (preferably) an advanced cruise control that can read speed signs and maintain a following distance to reduce my road fatigue as my daily highway commute is pretty long. Bonus points if it can actually detect and respond to deer faster than I can (looking at you ford!).
The 250% on dairy is because the USA refused to stop subsidizing its dairy farmers to overproduce. Remove the subsidies or it isn’t fair trade.

Hey, that’s a similar reason they have a tariff on our soft wood.
Well, Donald, that is what happens when you tariff a trading partner, they put a tariff on you, Donald. Just like Russia can end the war at any moment they wish by simply leaving Ukraine, you, Donald, can end this trade war the same way by just stopping it.
Soft wood is because it’s a Federal Agreement not a State Agreement
States are free to put their own tariffs on imports, that’s why NAFTA was so beneficial to the US

Whiniest president ever.
Every president before has a number of sensible, inspiring and intelligent quotes.
This one will be remembered for his grade ten level school yard remarks, insults and come backs
Hopefully he will be remembered for how he dies.
Straining himself on the toilet while crying into a bucket of fried chicken over the price of eggs.
Musk knocking at the KFC bathroom door, ‘is everything OK in there.’
🤞
This would be too classy an exit for him. He needs to be Mussolini’d
Is this a real post ??
The really horrifying ones are the ones coming from Whitehouse.gov - I’ve never been to the White House website more than these 6 weeks to confirm screenshots are genuine. Horrifically, they all have been.
Sadly yes.
Fuck
Pretty much, yeah. Right there with you.
Sounds like an abusive boyfriend when his better than he ever should have had girlfriend leaves him.
What a whiny little bitch.
It’s not a tarrif. Tarrifs are on imports, not exports. He may be confused though. The US can’t do that. Canada can. He may not realize other countries don’t have to follow or laws. He’s old
Every place is like the US. If they aren’t, they’re stupid, and they should be like the US. - republicans
I just saw this one too. What a fucking shit stain.
I wonder if Canada could double that milk tarrif, until he apologizes.
Double all the tariffs 🎶
Jesus Christ, what an embarrassment
Maybe Maybe Maybe … some day he’ll learn actions have (unexpected) consequences …
Someone get this man a straightjacket already
