If the government offered free skills training to be prepared in case of emergency I’d take them up on it.

I am ready to do my part and my skills are many. Do not simply tell me what my country can do for me, tell me what I can do for my country.

Same. We should contact our local MP/MLA office and throw the idea to them as well.

We should have a civilian marksmanship program and drone piloting program at the very least

It’s a good idea, but I’d like to see more so that even, say, an older person with disabilities could join.

The article mentions first aid, organization / coordination, and search and rescue training as being fundamental. There’s something for the whole family!

We could pay for this easily with an end to corporate welfare.

the federal government and the four largest provinces in Canada collectively spend about $29 billion a year on business subsidies — delivered through the tax system, spending programs and government businesses enterprises.

Sweden has a solid template on how to handle this shit

Update with lessons from ukriane and start distribution so every adult person knows what to do in event of an invasion

It does seem like Canada has 10-15% who will collaborate with us through just like Russians did in Ukraine…

Might want to start making lists of these people and they will play crucial role in any future invasion.
