More TSMC factories are coming to the US.

Last year, TSMC pushed back the timeline for its second Arizona plant, saying it will open in 2027 or 2028 instead of 2026.
There is also political risk to consider, you don’t want to investment (especially $100 billion) into what is essentially a mafia state, where some random goons can just take away all your money (and a large part of the population is openly supportive of corruption and criminality).
On the other hand, they want to keep making money if China takes over Taiwan.
I believe the official policy of Taiwan is all fabs get blown up in case of a Chinese invasion.
I don’t have enough knowledge of Taiwan for any sort of interpretation of this “rule”.
