    All donations to political parties should be illegal and considered bribes. All money to political parties should come from membership fees.

      Per-vote subsidies are also a legit, fair, and non-corrupt way to empower our democratic institutions, while shutting out dark money.

      Except then Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2008 prorogued parliament to end this (at least at the federal level).
