I know a few people in the states. They depend on both social security and medicade (or medicare. I always get those confused. Give me a break. I’m Canadian.) The voted for Trump mostly because of woke-something-something.

I’m not going to lie. If they end up without their government funds keeping them going, it will be pretty satisfying.

As for the other people who didn’t vote for Trump, or didn’t vote, my sympathy is pretty low. It was no mystery what Trump was after the first run and no mystery what Project 2025 was planning. It should have been a landslide against him but not enough people cared I guess.

I think this entire thing is an apathy wake up call. If we want things to be good and stay good, we have to work at it all the time.

Psst, Medicare is for people 65+, medicaid can be for anyone as long as you meet certain criteria (generally low income or disability)

You may hate to be rude but I don’t. What’s happening to them is exactly what they voted for and praised. What’s happening to them is exactly what they were told would happen to them if things went this direction.

I do not pity the person who voted for the leopard eating faces party and becomes a face that gets eaten.

It sucks for the ones who didn’t vote that way. But, seriously… The writing was on the wall.

If only there was a system that let smaller parties still have power in government even they only got a portion of votes.

So people who voted for the smaller parties are still represented based on a proportion…

Sometimes I wonder if this is what conservatives feel all the time when they see “the right people” getting hurt. I hate it here and I hate that even just finding what small solace I can makes me feel like I’m actively becoming a worse person.

The absolute best part is her saying that they shouldn’t just fire probationary employees, but they also shouldn’t believe the five things in an email either.

Well it’s almost like a whole side of the government said what Trump wanted to do with the USA was wrong and bad. And people didn’t listen because they fell for the words of a RICH WHITE GUY, instead of watching his actions for the last 25+ years… Consequence for your actions

HR, I thought they’re either woke because they fight to ensure equal application of rules, or otherwise are worthless bureaucrats? Who needs HR’s protection? Certainly not someone who believes in autocratic decision-making processes!
