Ukraine will have an election after the war is over. That has always been true.

Yes. Their law doesn’t allow elections when martial law is in effect and it also states that the current president will hold office as long as the successor has been chosen. Plus, if I’m not mistaken, it was Ukrainian parliament (or whatever they’re called) who decided to not run elections, not Zelensky himself.

Also that 4% approval is complete bullshit, as the article states. If something Zelensky has a bit higher approval than before.

Please link to the part of their constitution that states the presidential elections are suspended during martial law. I’ll wait cause it’s not there.

          https://rm.coe.int/constitution-of-ukraine/168071f58b

          Article 83

In the event that the term of authority of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expires while martial law or a state of emergency is in effect, its authority is extended until the day of the first meeting of the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine , elected after the cancellation of martial law or of the state of emergency.

From my 10 minutes of searching: Doesn’t seem like the president is part of the Verkhovna Rada but from what i can tell the law is being interpreted that if they can’t change what’s the point of elections for president.

Well i posted cause i was curious. So I dgaf. 83 doesn’t say no presidentsl elections but that’s the “spirit of the law” as interpreted by the people who 83 does states have no elections. Unfortunately, every country has the same issue with how things can be interpreted even if it is bs.

If you wanna say 83 says no elections for the govt but not the president go ahead. Cause that’s the literal interpretation. Though a bit silly cause a president without support of the govt that cant get voted out is doing Jack all anyway.

The constitution very clearly says nothing about presidential elections being cancelled during martial law. Your initial comment was factually wrong.

My initial comment on 83 stating it says only the Verkhovna Rada and that president is not clearly part of that section so it is purely the spiritual interpretation of the law?

I knew Ukraine would get fucked one day. Just letting people know this is also how the Middle East was created using this tactic. I find it hilarious.

Even the delusional marvel brained libs who thought Ukraine was gonna steamroll Russia should have known, best case scenario, the US ends up with a Saddam in Eastern Europe.

But they don’t remember last month’s headlines, tall order getting them to read any real history.

    “could be ousted”

    Uhhhhhh no.

Nobody in their right mind would listen to this.

The Russian Puppet never intended to allow support to continue and is making shit up to try and justify halting aid without serious backlash.

Musketrump and the MAGAts can get fucked. Unless they’re willing to go to war to enforce it, there’s 0 chance of it happening. And if they go to war for that, they’re going to have a hell of a lot of internal conflict that will absolutely result in blood. Militarily and civilian.

This individual has yet to provide transparency on the allocation of funds sent to support Ukraine. It seems increasingly likely that a number of Americans, including former administration figures, are profiting significantly from these deals. With his wealth growing, it’s hard to understand why he would jeopardize his power and financial interests, especially while his own people continue to suffer. It’s time for a change in leadership—one that genuinely prioritizes the well-being of the nation and its citizens.

It was part of Ukraine’s law that elections are postponed during war time before Zelenaky was elected.

This is common across other democracies, for example the UK did it during WWII

Or do you mean something else?

Zelensky could be ousted? No way!

We all love our country being turned into mass prison, being kidnapped off the streets by TCC guys, get beaten (or just killed) and then sent to the meatgrinder (if not killed or had too many broken bones before that) to die a horrible death for our glorious master Zelensky!

Don’t believe anyone who says otherwise, they are tankies spreading Russian propaganda.
