Excerpt:
The recent announcement of U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods has ignited a strong backlash among Canadian travelers, leading to widespread cancellations of vacations to the United States. Michigan, a state that relies heavily on Canadian tourists, stands to lose millions in revenue as a result of this growing boycott. With Canada serving as the top international source of U.S. visitors, a decline in Canadian tourism could severely impact Michigan’s tourism sector, which contributes significantly to the state’s economy.
US Citizen here Keep up the good work. Off to protest in ther morning
Hi :) Thanks, you too! Stay safe over there!
Good! Trumps MAGA Project 2025 is going to find out what happens when you fuck with Canadians.
Your tariffs are going to only enrich the top oligarchs more and steal from the average joe, but Canadas the problem.

Hmm, I might put that on a t-shirt.
Love it!
I don’t wear printed t-shirts, but I think I might actually get that one. Really made me angry, and disgusted me, when I saw that merchandise on Amazon, one item with our maple leaf covered over by an American eagle.
Love the sentiment, but it needs to be workshopped to create the right product. There’s definitely something there, though.
I’m open to suggestions! :)
Progressives in Michigan, you have your work cut out for you.
Hello Michigan :) How do you mean exactly?
A bunch of people will take pay cuts, lose their jobs or otherwise lose money over this. Therefore progressives should take this opportunity to make it very clear to Trump and non voters that Trump did this. This is how you get votes in the next election.
If there is a next election…? Apparently he said that if people voted for him, they’d never have to vote again… can’t help wondering what craziness he’s planning for the future.
There is something to be optimistic about on that front- there is no federal election. Instead, there are 51 state elections (inc. DC) that are mostly independent.
While I’m sure that Trusk will try their damnedest to corrupt the whole process, there’s not much requiring states to listen to the feds.
That said, election security will need to be paramount. Not just the integrity of the voters (but that too), but all of the staff, the election machines themselves, outside attackers, intimidation, and so on.
There’s a report going around of voting machines reporting a red shift once a certain number of votes have been counted. If I were trying to hide that sort of attack in the code, that’s exactly how I would do it. Which means audits will need to be very thorough.
Sorry, what’s the difference exactly between a federal election and all States voting independently? Doesn’t that amount to the same thing?
The difference is the center of power and control. Michigan sets most of their own rules and administers it within the state.
Ohio does the same, following its own internal standards. The process and results might look similar, but they really don’t have to be.
Which means that Trusk can’t dismantle it from the inside. They have limited power to tell each state what to do or how to do it.
The tariffs are going to backfire when MAGA folks see the new sticker prices on their beloved pickup trucks. The supply chain for those is densely integrated between Canada and the US. My friend works as a weld tech at a plant that builds truck frames. 100% of them are exported to the US for assembly into new trucks.
Don’t forget parts also come from Mexico to Canada to get these built. It’s an absolute shit show what these MFs wanted.
Canada 💪.
Keep it up Canada.
Keep it up, Canada! Together, we can make an awful lot of noise!🍁
