Should any attempt be made, I will kill as many Nazis as I can on my way out.

    Fuck trump
    Fuck maga
    Fuck Nazis
    Fuck musk

As they say in Iran (and so many other nations), “death to America”

Give me liberty or give me death, eh.

When I was in the Marines, and before I was in, and after I got out, we regularly trained in Norway, (oddly enough in an effort to dispel any notion of Russia coming west, funny) in the coldest parts of Norway. It wasn’t fun, but it’s silly to think the most well equipped and active military in the world somehow doesn’t train to fight in the cold.

I’m out now, but when I was in, I’d say the majority, a vast majority, would not be interested in fighting Canada. I can’t see America and Canada entering a war. I can see Canada capitulating to America’s demands. I see it creating a lot of bad will between Canadians and Americans, and I see the ultimate conclusion being one we could’ve worked toward together, instead of what is ostensibly bullying.

Us regular people down here are still your friends.

In Canada when your friends get bullied you say or do something. There’s some of you, but it’s mighty silent. These protests should be huge, since when are Americans passive?

            Always have been 🌍 👨‍🚀🔫 👨‍🚀

Most people keep their heads down and try to lead on their lives, feeling powerless against the gov. Once people have nothing left to lose, they will start fighting back but who knows when that’ll happen.

As they say in Iran (and so many other nations), “death to America”

A significant percentage of young Iranian population is, due to being full of their theocratic leadership, full of love to America, and to Republicans even more than to Democrats, and in some sense because of Republicans seeming more likely to blow shit up. Doesn’t quite reach them that the USA will not be friendlier to Iran after that regime falls. It’s actually very convenient to have theocratic assholes in charge of a country that is very inconvenient for various logistical and military plans.

who overthrew the democratic government there and put in a dictator leading to theocratic leadership?

the USA will not be friendlier to Iran after that regime falls. The US have never been friendly to anyone, they will have no misconceptions. They are after all far better educated than americans.

And we’ll see if Iran falls before the US regime. Looks like they’re not doing too great.

A monarch. Not a dictator. There’s a bit of difference with dictators, but it’s funny how for the western world monarchy seems to be the natural form of government in MENA and West Asia, and at the same time dictators are bad, very bad and should be dealt with.

That Islamic Revolution of theirs was kinda fine before mullahs took power. BTW, one of the mojahed parties took Saddam’s side in Iran-Iraq war and would recruit collaborationists, and the general sentiment of Iranians about them is like of Russians about ROA in WWII. And guess who’d the Iranian opposition USA tried to support - right, those guys. It sometimes seems American approaches to that region are just incompetence this big and not pure malice. But then one thinks about Turkey and Saudis and Israel being “the normal” countries for Americans there - and nah, it’s malice.

            A monarch. Not a dictator.

He certainly was a dictator. These 2 are not mutually exclusive.

As always the ones put in place by the west get good PR. There was also nothing wrong with Mobutu or Saddam as long as they did what was asked.

Even Wikipedia (a usually western biased and manipulated source) admits this.

The Pahlavi dynasty—Reza Shah Pahlavi and his son Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi—has sometimes been described as a “royal dictatorship”,[2] or “one man rule”,[3] and employed secret police, torture, and executions to stifle political dissent. During Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi’s reign, estimates of the number of political prisoners executed vary from less than 100[1] to 300.

What I know from the ‘opposition’ the US supports is that they chose the MEK terrorists. They simply took them of their own terror list since they can be used.

Same as they did with that horrible Jolani and his headchopper barbarians in Syria.

Yep, I didn’t say MEK because that’d be redundant information for a Lemmy thread.

              And I agree about Jolani.

OK, it seems we agree in everything about Iran and USA.
