Proton Drive as a backup location

Amazing to see the progress that Home Assistant has made with backups, nice to see the first integrations adding their backup locations. I would love to be able to store my Home Assistant backups in Proton Drive. I think their API is very limited (most people integrate with it via rsync) and am wondering about 2 things: Is it possible to provide this at the quality level required for an official integration? If so, how? If not, is an add-on feasible? Is there enough demand for this to be wort...

        Posteo.de if you don’t need a custom domain, Mailbox.org if you do.

        For cloud storage it should be a different service anyways, it’s best not to combine things with the same company. So for example Tresorit for storage, Bitwarden for passwords, Mullvad for a VPN, etc…

        For what? I’m using Nextcloud self hosted on unraid and exposed via Nginx Proxy Manager for external access for storage.

        Works fine.

        I have not upgraded to the 2025 HA yet because of the backup drama of the first release. Probably will this weekend now that the major issues were addressed.

        Unrelated to this topic but also zigbee2mqtt v2 seems to be a nightmare too I’m not ready to deal with that “upgrade”

    I bet if you make it, some people will love it.

    it seems much more niche than some other providers, but that’s one of the great things about HA - lots of tinkerers use it, and some are bound to use Proton Drive.

    Yeah, I love the backup features they’ve bought in. The ability to restore specific parts of Home Assistant is really great
