My pedometer app tells me that on a day I walked 5048 steps it was 4km. I dunno, what’s the math on that?
I have observed that for me, a mile is about 2000 steps. A mile is about 1.61 km so I would say your figure sounds about right.
4/1.61 = ~2.49 miles × 2000 = ~5000 steps. That 2000 steps per mile figure will vary based on a few factors but I think it’s a decent rule of thumb for most adults.
