Watching the current mess in the US over a number of things, and seeing how it could get even worse, I’m not sure that having more things at the provincial level is right. Of course, it depends upon what those things are, but still.
This might not be the best thing for Canada either given the state of some provincial politics. With more power politicians like Doug Ford could go beyond banning just bike lanes and completely ban bike ownership. Then he would brag how he managed to get 0 cyclist deaths.
What we really need is stronger municipalities and regional politics. It would make it easier for cities or counties to experiment with new ideas for housing, transportation, and energy.
Could be worse… could be A LOT better too, but I’d take him over pp
So long as the CPC don’t win an outright majority PP won’t be the next Prime Minister. Unfortunately that’s highly likely.
But I’d much rather have a BQ PM (or do I dare dream of NDP) over LPC.
I wouldn’t want a block for a PM as they are focused on Quebec, NDP though please
Bloc is more pro-provincial rights than pro-quebec.
I’d trust them more than the CPC even if I didn’t live in Quebec.
