This is why asymmetric warfare works. Nobody would care about this story if a hero didn’t take actions into his own hands.

If your oppressors are upset and scared, that’s a good thing.

Well people would care if they knew about it but it wouldn’t be publicized because it would be business as usual

So the question is how does this keep getting publicized? I am a therapist by trade and I just had 8 clients drop services prematurely because today is the day deductibles reset and they can no longer afford treatment. I had another client whose insurance rejected historical claims and demanded $876 returned weeks after the fact (that I am supposed to in turn charge directly to the client). How do these things get publicized? This stuff happens every day. None of these were with United though, does that matter? Or is United the only “bad” insurer. I am sure every practitioner in America has similar stories just from the past month

Further, what happens with this publicity? Will this be an occupy wall street situation where there is a big noise for a moment, then it fizzles out and absolutely nothing at all changes? Probably, because I don’t see an answer to this question

its common practice for insurance to have a “total coverage” contract with a provider, so they say 876 is coming out of next month’s insurance check to you, and the difference is between you and these clients… or you can eat it.

No cash ever flows back to the insurance company from a provider.

Just another example of systems built intentionally to separate the people responsible for fucking you and the person being fucked. Now the therapists office either eats a 900 dollar debt or they charge a patient (who doesn’t have $900) and potentially cause them to cease vital services until they can pay.

            Fuck

Capitalism is ill equipped to deal with things like health care. The two are at odds. Until we get recognition of that, nothing changes.
