        My roommate’s trans partner is visiting from the states as long as she can each year…after my perma-roommate/friend got blacklisted crossing into USA arbitrarily because they assumed the disabled autistic guy on disability was gonna work illegally in the USA while visiting her in Boston apparently. Fucking boots.

        The border shit with them is already anxiety inducing, I’m not looking forward to them trying this under the Trump regime. Might be like driving while black, you know?

        Anyways, yes to the ally thing. She knows she has a room here if she has to flee. But we live in Alberta, so…idk. I don’t know the future.

      Indeed; given that Illinois is also a progressive and generally LGBTQ-friendly state, I was a bit confused by the Washington-or-bust tone of that article.

        14 states + DC have shield laws protecting trans healthcare. 2 more have shield executive orders. Wish it were more, but folks certainly have more options than this piece articulates yeah
