The class war transcends all others.
American women need only see all the women politicians, CEOs, and doting nepo daughters perfectly comfortable with forcing poor women to take an unwanted pregnancy to term only to have their Healthcare needs denied to understand that.
You need to be human to be in their elite sisterhood first, and your net worth means you don’t qualify. Sadly it’s all too common to hear that and try to imagine how to break into that little sociopath club rather than fight it.
It applies to all regular citizens. Cops tell guys there’s nothing they can do about XYZ all the time.
The only divide is class divide.
Also, I thought that lady who used Luigi’s shell casing words also said “you’re next” which definitely adds to it
The only divide is class divide.
Every time I see people say this, all I can think is that they’ve never had someone get in their face and hate them for existing as part of a group of people.
Because there is literally a divide between bigots and non-bigots. There are plenty of dirt-poor bigots out there and “they aren’t your real enemy” is not going to convince them.
It’s a little chicken and egg, I think. Racist ideas were used to justify slavery, but it’s also possible that racist ideas played into the beginning of enslavement of Africans as well.
These days, I think it’s just a matter of people become bigoted through largely osmosis, and the conservative mindset is fertile ground for bigoted messaging. Political and economic elites, then, focus on culture war bullshit because it works as an effective smokescreen to prevent the news from focusing on billionaires’ (effectively) war crimes.
Big ol feedback loop of bigotry, unfortunately.
As someone that says ‘no war but class war’ let me clarify…yes there are clearly other divides. They are distracting us to keep us divided. Many times the bigot and non-bigot ven diagrams are 2 circle on top of each other, but it’s still based in class warfare.
Rich white went and got poor black slaves because it was cheaper than paying the local poor for work. Then the local poor hate the newly migrated people of color. It was slaves, but moved to employing underage kids for foreign countries. Either way it is still a class divide.
The rich use the media to keep us (working class) mad at each other and blame each other for taking our jobs. The truth is the owner class stole our wealth and sold it back to us for money. We were too distracted with lies about honest work to realize the truth in time. Some of this stuff happens in cycle and they wouldn’t notice for themselves. They get stuck buying way too much because it’s too easy and they don’t realize until they own more stuff than they need.
I know not everyone on ‘my side’ will agree with me and there are blind spots for me. I’m American, globally my quality of life is awesome and it’s on the backs of child slaves that I’m too disconnected with to feel guilty about. If you are an American and feel a certain way about your cell phone and chocolate, just know it’s not magic. A bad system that we can make better is currently in place. We take for granted because bad people employing child labor because it is cheap.
We are still on the same side even if we don’t know it. I believe it was Warren Buffet that said
There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.
The saying isn’t trying to claim those people don’t exist, of course they do. The saying is a declaration of the truth. The truth that those people are fucking wrong and dumb for their bigoted beliefs. Because our only enemy is the .01% at the top.
Your only enemy is the .01% at the top.
A lot of us have a second enemy- the bigots that want us dead. You can call them wrong and dumb for their beliefs, but they would still rather shoot me and people I love in the head than a CEO.
OMG I know. When I say our I mean all of the middle and lower classes which includes them stop rehashing
This is what you said:
The saying is a declaration of the truth. The truth that those people are fucking wrong and dumb for their bigoted beliefs. Because our only enemy is the .01% at the top.
Those fucking wrong and dumb people are my enemy because they want me and people I care about dead much more than any CEO. It’s that simple. You want me to team up with a Nazi to fight the people at the top. I’m telling you they’re both my enemies. Fascism does not know economic class.
This. The job of cops is to protect rich bastards and their stuff.
“you’re next” is a prediction, not a threat. Don’t normalize the conflation of the two.
Depends completely on context. Idk if you’re being tongue in cheek or not
The context is “beyond a reasonable doubt”.
In legalese, “It depends” translates to “Not Guilty”: you must assume the accused’s purpose and intent was innocent, if any innocent interpretation is at all “reasonable”.
With that being the case, cops and prosecutors might have had sufficient justification to conduct an investigation, but that investigation does not seem to have turned up sufficient evidence to arrest or charge her.
She’s going to get settlement when she decides to sue. Should be enough to cover the procedure she was apparently denied.
No war, but the class war.
Now that I think of it, I think cops sit on the wrong side of the class divide when they’re performing their jobs, but on our side when asking for working conditions.
Their job is to protect capital and government. Same for military.
Wild how that works lol
Wait you mean cops are class traitors? No way!
I’ve also heard they’re bastards, but that can’t be true
Yes, she made an explicit threat towards people on a recorded zoom call.
She told them that they were next. That is not a threat. That is a prediction.
She walked right up to the line, but the reports of her actions do not indicate she crossed it.
“Luigi Mangione allegedly killed your competitor’s CEO over behavior just like this. Keep this up, and some copycat is going to do the same to you.”
That’s not a threat. That is an observation; a prediction. That is protected speech. And that is a perfectly reasonable interpretation of the words she is reported to have spoken.
People get death threats for the most silly things these days, in all sorts of ways, and nobody is going to get fined. This is all BS.
Take the families who were harassed by Alex Jones for example, they got heaps of death threats and no one was fined for it.
If somebody on a video call makes a death threat to me, you can bet your ass I am taking that recording to law enforcement even as someone who fears and distrusts cops. To equate that with people hiding behind screen names and no image of themselves online as they post “kill yourself” or whatever is so beyond disingenuous. There is no way I need to explain how these are different caliber threats.
You have clearly never been doxxed or on the receiving end of a credible death threat. You learn to take these things really fucking seriously.
You can take it seriously but I doubt law enforcement will
Most people do not get the death threats on camera, and then have the person admit to the police they made the threat like the woman did.
The Alex Jones related threats were in fact anonymously made making it incredibly hard to verify and convict. Jones was also ordered to pay almost a billion dollars for making the original claims and spurring on the threats.
I thought some of those people got caught. Maybe I’m mixing that up with Jan 6ers though.
yeah, she said “you people are next”, and she said it to a specific person following an obviously politically motivated assassination. Very different from some X-itter anon reposting a vague anti-abortion slogan with no real attachments to something like a high-profile assassination.
It should be made clear, phone workers are not the ones deciding you and your loved ones don’t get anesthesia, they deserve no hostility as they are merely stuck in the same system trying to feed themselves and their families. The boards, ceo’s, and owners of insurance companies raking in billions… They very much should be terrified. Rightly so.
And lest you think this is exaggerating, this guy was released after his EIGHTH arrest for stalking.
https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/plano-man-8th-arrest-stalking-harassing-smu-students/
I’m not a big fan of our style of incarceration… slave labor with the constant threat of violence from staff and fellow inmates (dependent upon which facility). But this is a guy who needs to be gone. He will never stop. He has no boundaries. And is constantly being emboldened by a system that says women aren’t allowed to ever feel safe.
You can swap him into prison for some black guy that smoked weed
I support corporal punishment for people like this. Cane the shit out of his ass until he can’t sit for a month.
Make Caning Great Again.
Except women are pretty safe
/doubt
They are pretty safe, laws exist & police & courts side with women & give them light punishments I can give you sources, but are you truly interested in fact-checking ?
The percentage of rapists that are never convicted (and the number of rapists that are cops and prison guards) says otherwise.
There are MANY other things in American society that are extremely unsafe for women (like pregnancy, for example), but this is an easy one to point out.
You’re going to comb through 1,000,000 cases and skip 500,000 where women were fucked over in order to bring us 100s of cases where women got “the pussy pass.”
Nobody can explain bias or statistics to you, nobody will dismantle all your proof, the end.
It isn’t 100s it’s 999,999 & Pussy Pass isn’t the correct term, the term you’re looking for is Female-Priviledge & you cannot dismantle proof because you have no counters & statistics & don’t project your tendency to be biased on me
Dazzle me with your sources.
Please.
He needs chemical castration really. And antipsychotics.
At the very least the latter. Probably the former too.
something something ingroups outgroups
something something protecting but not bound by it
something something bound by it but not protected by it
Don’t forget, corporations are people too.

If the court systems has given up on the very concept of justice…
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible…
If it’s peaceful, it’s not a revolution, it’s accountability.
The peaceful transfer of power in democracies is a peaceful revolution. That’s the entire point of elections, to change governments without fighting. If Trump and the Republicans manages to prevent either the 2026 or 2028 election they will have made peaceful change impossible.
Wait when did court systems provide justice? I thought they’ve always been a “polite” version of mob rule. (See: entire history of Spain, entire history of uk, entire history of Catholic church, history of new England, history of us / native American relations, history of us slavery, history of women’s suffrage, history of civil rights, history of abortion rights, history of gay rights, turing, history of trans rights - these are just the items in aware of)
Well, the point of the justice system was to make it so we didn’t have to apply mob rule ourselves. The system would apply consequences to bad actions. This was always going to be unequal, but it stopped functioning at all for the ultra-wealthy a while ago. Until it does again, it’s a sham and the protections they provided by giving an alternative are effectively gone. People need to see it working properly for all people for it to be trusted again and to protect everyone from vigilantism.
I’m looking for a single concrete fact that isn’t a questionable “back in the day” sentiment.
Also the mob rule I mention is the same as your definition of bad. Edited my post to add flavor.
I wonder what happens if these incels say “your body, my choice” to a woman who happens to be a CEO. 🤔
My bet is 90% chance they get some prison sentence.
That’s because there is no war but the class war.
No way
A regular woman is on the same class as a male CEO & you don’t know the meaning of the word incel
A regular woman is in the same class as a male CEO? You’re joking right? Because if you aren’t then you might be the dumbest motherfucker that I’ve ever interacted with and you’re to be taken about as seriously as a birthday clown. How can you not understand that what you said here is brutally idiotic?
Ah yes the good-ol “you’re a clown, you’re stupid” tactic while offering no counters I can give IRL examples (AKA Evidence) I wouldn’t be saying it if I didn’t, I’m tired of pretending that women aren’t literally bourgeoise The million dollar question is Are you interested in evidences ??
lol dude I’m not going to waste my time arguing with someone who believes being a woman immediately qualifies you as “bourgeoisie.” It’s too stupid and unhinged of a take to try and take on at face value, and not something that you can believe and argue in good faith. Have a good life buddy.
This incel got his fee fees hurt when I said “Sup Incel” then accused me of being a sex offender… guy fucking oozes desperation and hate at women because they are absolutely not into a creepy fuck like him.
Like my wife works as an insulator. How is she, who goes to work in an industrial setting every day, anywhere near the level of privilege of a CEO? Or a man born into incredible wealth? It’s an absolutely brain dead take. Makes absolutely zero sense to anybody who isn’t just bitter that women don’t want to fuck them.
You are. You are the meaning of the word incel. Look at your comment history, it’s thinly veiled tech reblogging about stuff you don’t know how to do, nitpicking, and straight up misogyny sprinkled throughout. Absolutely pathetic.
Incel means involuntarily celibate, just in case you didn’t know & the word Misogyny has lost all meaning thanks to folks like you
Like dude, you think calling someone an incel invalidates their opinion ? What’s next ? Let’s bring back the N-word ?
Also, I’m tech-savvy enough to know about Fediverse & the world doesn’t revolve around your half-baked opinions, So go be a sex-obsessed creepy weirdo somewhere else (You clearly are not alone)
That is the etymology, which was actually coined by a Canadian woman.
The origins of incel are widely considered to be in 1993 in Quebec, when a young university student known only as Alana created a website to talk about her involuntary celibacy with others. It was called “Alana’s Involuntary Celibacy Project.” On the website, incel was described as “anybody of any gender who was lonely, had never had sex or who hadn’t had a relationship in a long time.”
But those roots are long gone.
(Source: CBC)
But the concept, “incel”, describes someone who objectifies women, believing they have an inherent right to use their bodies sexually, with or without consent (rape). They are misogynist for that and because they don’t see women as full people, nor understand that women have the same fears and dreams as men.
Your post history states that you think women have it easy/have no consequences and that misogyny isn’t real, which implies you don’t care to know any real women (non-fictious) on a significant level. Knowing real women means you know how often they are targeted, abused, passed over, underpaid, raped.
Knowing women’s history-- their fight for the right to vote; to not be considered their husband’s property; to attend school and work; and to have a damn bank account, might perhaps enlighten you to their plight, and change your tone.
Edit: punctuation
Women do have it easy, they always have They didn’t have to be conscripted & women back then were actually considered equal to aristocracy & can marry into a rich household
There’s more to it but hey you’re the one being a creep, you really don’t care about women’s issues, you just want to get into their pants
Of course Incel was coined by a woman as a shaming term just like Herbivore men
Lol, I am a woman… so I’m pretty sure I care about Woman’s Issues.
I hope you feel publicly shamed. Your takes suck. You clearly have very little social intelligence, so you don’t do anything complicated enough to work with a team. You’re too stupid to read about etymology, you’re more concerned with being right than you are being correct. Extremely blockable user.
lol and have you ever had to be conscripted? Idiot logic.
Anyone can read about lemmy and install an app. Children do. I’m obsessed with video games. Truly devoid of critical thinking skills in there isn’t it
Sup incel
Sup Sex-offending creep
That’s the kind of accusations that tells me you’re a *Nice Guy™. Maybe some day you’ll learn how to handle rejection and it’s okay if someone isn’t into you.
Grow yourself into an interesting person WORTHY of a partner’s time instead of calling the rest of the functioning word “sex offenders”
Also Mr nice guy, your incel shows up consistently comment history. Good luck growing up you stupid incel fuck.
No means no whether they say it verbally or non verbally…like how a person tenses up if you tried to hug or touch them, that’s a solid no too asshole.
What’s the context?
She had told her insurance on the phone due to a denied claim “Deny. Depose. Defend. You guys are next” https://lemmy.world/post/23146938
It’s crazy because while that could read as a threat, it could just as easily be read like: “You’re doing the same thing that got that insurance ceo killed. You’re (i.e. your company, people like you, etc are) probably next on the list if this keeps happening to people.”
That kind of is the threat? The dumb thing is the worker on the phone shouldn’t feel threatened because (s)he isn’t a stinking rich CEO.
But that scenario definitely does not meet the legal definition of a threat. It’s just a statement of opinion based on current events - she did not threaten anyone necessarily
I should have clarified - that’s the threat that those prosecuting her are referring to. It is a threat by any contextual interpretation, but it’s indeed harmless in comparison to other things that people get away with without consequences all the time. For example murderers in uniform.
Damn not the smartest move
I agree. But saying “Your body my choice” is 10x more deserving of prison time than this is
Over the phone it’s probably taken as more direct and personal
Woman says defend, deny, depose, and you’re next to healthcare insurance workers on a recorded zoom call. They arrested her and have her held on $100k bail.
And even after they actually hurt you! Cops don’t care about protecting plebs - there’s no money in that.
Sexual violence and misconduct are rampant in our society. The police protect the perpetrators of these crimes as much as they protect the wealthy targeted by justified vigilantes. Those who fight back against injustice perpetrated by the wealthy and powerful get harassed by the cops. The role of the police is to stop those getting screwed over by a corrupt system of gender/racial/class hierarchies from exposing their mistreatment or negotiating for more equitable arrangements.
Our system supports those who commit sex/war crimes and punishes those who dare to be victims or who speak out about these injustices.
And then the wealthy act surprised when the victims of sex crimes seeking justice start agitating against overmilitarization and calling for the abolition of policing. Those who are ostracized and forbidden from joining elite society are bound to find common ground with each other and unify against the tyranny we all face.
May King Louie finally lose his head.
I agree. My opinion that communities should determine their own standards doesn’t mean that individual men should have the right to taunt or threaten the women around them. if you threaten or harass another person, you should be at least fined for that disgusting behavior.
I go the opposite way. Boston was charged with a terrism related charge and would not have been able to be charged pre patriot act. We need more free speech rights even if asshats abuse it because this arrest is scary as fuck.
Agreed, PATRIOT was the worst piece of legislation in about 60 or 70 years.
Parkrose Permaculture showing up on Lemmy? Waiter, more please!
I follow that lady on Tiktok. She has some very good takes. Well worth looking her up.
Following on Bluesky. She’s smart AF.
I think the people that tweet “your body, my choice” are not the ones that hold that belief and are merely using a provocative way to point out how fucked up those fuckers are.
What the fuck are you talking about
Oh I thought it was obvious.
Then I’d say probably stop thinking for a bit.
