Canada’s spy agency says it will disclose “some information” about foreign interference to Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, who has resisted getting the national security clearance he needs to review classified documents about the issue because it would muzzle him.
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) told CBC News on Saturday that it’s determined “the disclosure of some information to the leader of the Official Opposition through a threat reduction measure is appropriate.”
Classified information is typically shared only with people who have an appropriate security clearance and a relevant need to know, CSIS said in a statement.
Trudeau is further pushing Pierre into a corner with Pierre’s refusal to get the necessary levels of security clearance to be leader of the opposition, much less leader of the country.
Anyone who cares about Canada should be deeply troubled that someone in his position is so desperate to avoid getting that security clearance. And should ask what it is he’s avoiding being held accountable for.
Because he wants to be able to talk BS about secret stuff without having to worry about being held accountable.
It is a blatant excuse to lie, but the HoC won’t change the rules so that all party leaders would be forced to submit to the investigation for a security clearance.
