Summary
About half of working women reported feeling stressed “a lot of the day,” compared to about 4 in 10 men, according to a Gallup report published this week.
The report suggests that competing demands of work and home comprise part of the problem: working women who are parents or guardians are more likely than men who are parents to say they have declined or delayed a promotion at work because of personal or family obligations, and mothers are more likely than fathers to “strongly agree” that they are the default responders for unexpected child care issues.

4 in 10 is about half…
The differences in social expectations is a valid topic, but that sentence made me chuckle.
Yeah, it’s like they wanted to include that stat but also kind of gloss over it to not “all people are stressed” the article. I can see why they did, but yeah, lol.
If we first got those numbers down to 2:10 and 1:10, we could then try to learn why women are reporting being stressed “a lot of the day” at twice the rate of men.
Plus this is 4/10 stubborn men admitting being stressed, the real number has to be higher lol
I dunno if I’m in the 4/10 admitting it or the 6/10 lying about it but I’m stressed 20/7 (a generous four hours of REM sleep).
You have non-stressful dreams? Lucky.
I dreamed the other day I totaled my car in a bad accident and then went and bought an Acura and was happy with it.
I don’t know what that says about my brain that “bad accident totalling my car” wasn’t stressful.
They almost could have said six of one half dozen of another.
So… keep in mind that men lie about how they feel. And they believe that society wants them to suffer in silence because that’s what “real men” do.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the real number was 9 in 10.
It’s 10 & it’s not that they “believe”, It’s quite clear that society wants men to suffer in silence I could link sources but are you really interested in knowing

Michelle Wolf on the idea of ‘having it all’
Women can have it all: all the responsibilities, all the obligations, and all the stress.
I like the joke where the woman says that women won’t be taken seriously until they commit half the murders…
And she’s getting damned tired of doing her part to bring up the average.
Are you referring to this Sara Pascoe bit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXRqjw98tHs

Michelle Wolf on the idea of ‘having it all’
LOL. Every word of that bit is so true.
Saw it a few days ago on Youtube. Glad I remembered her name.
Have you seen her at white house correspondents dinner?
Legend
No. Guess I’ll have to start paying her more attention.
I am not one of these overstressed working women now because:
My kids are older (youngest is still in high school, one in college, the rest adult now)
My husband does as much around the house as I do, including what is referred to as the “mental load”, he was a single dad before we got together.
That’s it. When my kids were younger and their dad didn’t do as much, yeah I was stressed. It’s stressful.
My job is demanding but somewhat flexible too, that does help, but mostly its because no little kids and a husband who doesn’t think all the kid and house stuff is my job.
