I have a lot of issues with Trudeau but the one thing I have to give him is that he can really deal with Trump well

Side note but since when is Canada a major source of drug cartels and fentanyl production lol?

I wonder if Trudeau will make the same move as the Mexican president and tell the actual truth about the meeting.

Agents captured an average of 1,810 pounds of fentanyl a month at the US-Mexico border … On the northern border, an average of 1.8 pounds a month was seized over the same period.

    Source

This is just a Trump power play, it has no basis in reality, but it strokes his ego and forces others to scramble.

Obviously, the recent RCMP fentanyl busts in BC got on Trump’s radar somehow, and he just assumed all that fentanyl was making its way to the US, instead of Australia like the investigation suggested.

Wow. Hard to believe that is the incoming head of, currently, the most powerful country. It’s interesting that “Retweet” is “ReTruth” on Trump Social. A bit on the nose that, the truth is whatever we say it is, no? It feels like a collective delusion, which I suppose it is

No fucking clue, I didn’t even know that was a thing (it probably isn’t). From an American point of view, it makes me wonder if he’s going to try to sell the idea of a border wall/patrol between Canada and the US, to keep people from trying to leave in the near future (and of course, he doesn’t understand that the US has struggled to build a wall between Mexico and the US, and the Canadian border is way longer).

You know, at this point I wouldn’t even be against a border wall but probably not for the reason he’d be thinking. You guys are scaring us a little

There will be “caravans of people coming from Canada” whenever Trump or Fox News thinks it is convenient.

Whatever, these are the same pack of idiots that thought immigrants were eating their pets. It’sALL just bullshit

I mean, the people leaving won’t be the same ones who thought immigrants were eating their pets. They’ll be the ones that the immigrant-eating-pets-believers are trying to drive out of the US (like LGBT, POC, etc).

I mean, you do you but it’s a Canadian politics community and Donald Trump/Justin Trudeau are pretty (to put it mildly) relevant to Canadian politics

Now to find out every community in which you comment, and post a trump story.

      Enjoy!

I’ve seen a few comments from people who’ve blocked posts by keyword. “Trump”, “Musk” etc. I think it’s totally fair to want to curate your feeds to fit your interests. You might want to explore that as an alternative approach to what IMO is a valid desire.

I’m worried for you if you just block by community because:

      1. You’ll be perpetually playing whack-a-mole and it’ll be an exhausting and frustrating experience for you. And that would suck.

      2. You’ll eventually have blocked such a significant swathe of Lemmy that it might feel artificially empty to you. And that would also suck.
