“I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain.” - John Adams, the 2nd President of the United States

Sounds like Clay Higgins doesn’t believe in making the world better for his children.

Does Clay Higgings believe in improving the world for anyone who isn’t a rich, straight, white, able bodied, “Christian”, republican man?

I feel like he asked an intern to come up with a tweet, who then just made a chat bot vomit out some word salad and they posted it without reading it or anything.

I’m a millennial and we had bomb drills in my school growing up, so this guy is not only an idiot, but he’s completely full of shit.

Millennials were born after nukes were invented and while the cold war ended (supposedly), nukes weren’t exactly removed from existence.

Any other millennials here vividly remember the nuclear duck-and-cover drills? Because I do. This boomer clown is so out of touch that he doesn’t realize that millennials are in their 40s and grew up during the end of the cold war.

Yup. I remember that there was definitely the fear of the USSR losing control of nukes during it’s dissolution in the early 90s.

I love how they assume that we’re all a bunch of young kids, I’m in my 40’s and I remember doing nuke drills in elementary school and getting shown where the fallout shelters were, my stepdad is just as Left as I am and is twenty years older and his schools also had fallout shelters and nuke drills.

I’d say they need to stop generalizing people, but if they understood nuance and context they probably wouldn’t be republicans, however there are plenty of Republicans that do know the differences but just aren’t arguing in good faith, now I’m definitely also generalizing them as well by saying that. The people who aren’t aware of their generalizations need to realize that old people can be lefties, and young people can be righties, there is no age limit for becoming a fascist asshole and there’s no age limit for realizing that capitalism only benefits the wealthy.

Or how about the last few years? Iran threatening nukes, North Korea with ballistic missile threats, Russia threatening to nuke everyone every other day, china building relations with Cuba, drills happening off of Alaska.

I mean, do we face these threats today, no? No idea what that tweet is saying.
