So far I’m kind of disappointed that they are showing what’s going on in the first Silo. Makes it feel like we are going in circles.
I wish they had edited it so we see Juliet’s adventure until she finally leaves to return to the original silo. Then do an episode of catch up as to what has been happening there. Then her arrival.
Honestly I was far more interested in what’s happening outside the Silo and the mystery, and not rehashing the characters from the first season other than Juliet.
If you’ve read the books — are they following the story pretty closely?
I agree, most of the time spent now in the original Silo feels slow, like filler. It seems like they’re stretching out Juliette’s storyline for some reason. Doesn’t make for a fun watch at the moment.
I think in the books she gets updates via radio when she is in silo 17. It’s been a while since I’ve read the books though so I may be misremembering. I think there is a lot of story to tell that way for a tv series. Also there’s too much for just a single catch up episode.
My feeling is this way is better.
Also Steve Zahn is the perfect Solo. I can’t wait to see even more of him now that he’s out of the server room.

Nah, what you want is the book layout.
The way the show is doing it is objectively better for a show, but subjectively as a way to tell the story regardless of format I like the show’s path better.
Like, I read the books during season1 so it’s been a minute. But all of book 2 is Solo’s silo, and the best parts were when she did contact her original silo and we got to see/hear what had been happening.
For a scripted show with only 10 episodes every two years, they can’t count on getting every actor back if they give em a four year break. This is really the only practical way for a show when it gets picked up season by season.
Plan to watch during Christmas holidays.
