007 - ALL OPENINGS from the Daniel Craig Era (youtube.com)
The first three are very close for me, I switched them around a few times making this post:
- Casino Royale
- Skyfall
- No Time To Die
- Spectre
- Quantum of Solace
As a Soundgarden / Audioslave fan, it’s always going to be Chris Cornell with “You know my name” from Casino Royale. It really took me by surprise when I saw the film for the first time. Wasn’t expecting a rock track opening.
There is also the Radiohead version of Spectre:
Was just going to mention that the rejected themes are often better than the ones used. There’s also an alternate of Quantum of Solace that’s pretty good.
Skyfall was quite unique
I ignore the Daniel Craig era altogether.
He’s a great actor, nothing to do with him.
From 0 to Sean Bean none of them did it “For England, James?”
Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” is the most evocative theme song for me, just so very solemn and sad.
I have only ever purchased two Bond themes. That one and Goldeneye.
