Jennifer Johnson, Lacombe-Ponoka legislature member, has been welcomed back into the United Conservative Party (UCP).

Johnson was banned in 2023 over comments where she compared the issue of transgender students in Alberta’s schools to baking cookies with feces inside.

“We can be top three per cent but that little bit of poop is what wrecks it,” Johnson said in audio from a 2022 talk at the Western Unity Group in Stettler.

“This is more than a teaspoon of poop in the cookie batch, right?"

After she got the boot from the UCP party for her comments, she was elected as an independent.

She is a true representative of the shit-cookie lovin’ people.

Despite the comments, Johnson was elected in May as an independent member.

It’s a lesson taught by some religious (e.g. Sunday School) teachers. It goes something like asking a group of kids “well you don’t want to eat a cookie that has just a little bit of poop, would you?” Relating it to some “worldly” practice, from my hazy ADHD memory I seem to remember it being swearing in my lessons, but there’s many variations I heard from other people.

So the idea is “just 1” worldly thing is 1 too many and you must stay 100% pure for the big G.

In this case, she’s saying the metaphorical poop in our society “cookie” is trans people existing.

            It’s utter christofascist puritanical horseshit.

Starting at the second sentence of the article:

Interesting. Anecdotally from my time living in Northern Alberta there is a strong Mormon presence there. Where I live now in AB as well, there’s quite a few small towns that are 90% Mormon or more. So I’m still inclined to believe that, but I have no real evidence other than my experience.

Why can’t these “freedom” types leave well enough alone?

I just don’t get how you can be all in on liberty and take the time to focus on how other people are living their life “wrong” in a way that impacts literally zero other people in any way.

Trans rights are human rights. We live in a colourful world that no amount of squinting will turn black and white.

Ironically, her analogy works way better for her own party than it does for whatever she’s trying to say.

With a little bit of insider knowledge here, the caucus were threatened by Danielle Smith to kick out anyone that voted against it so it had to be unanimous. There are a lot of pissed off MLAs that were 100% against bringing this shitbird back into the fold.
