‘we let’ women have rights? Women fought tooth and nail for years to get those rights, and assholes are still trying to claw them away; fuck, there’s places in the US right now where women are dying because their access to healthcare has been sabotaged by a supreme court that reinterpreted the constitution to remove their rights.

“we” in this case could be the American government in general and the supreme court specifically. The fact that such an important right was “granted” by a decision of nine random schmucks and can be taken away by another decision (rather than being a law) is not a great look for that government.

But you’re right that it was not the best phrasing. Activism is extremely important esp on more local levels

The same reason anyone would be: because their current body doesn’t match their gender identity and they want to change that. This person just happened to start inside the same arbitrary social category as their destination.

          I’m confused

The word cisgender (often shortened to cis; sometimes cissexual) describes a person whose gender identity corresponds to their sex assigned at birth, i.e., someone who is not transgender.

If they’re taking hrt it sounds like they’d want to change their gender

Just as some AMAB (Assigned Male At Birth) men want to look more masculine and will work out at the gym or take testosterone supplements, some AMAB men are femboys and may temporarily take feminizing HRT to look less masculine.

Both are trying to change their bodies to better fit their gender identity, and femboy is clearly a different identity from gym bro, but they are both male gender identities.

Low to no sexdrive and they want to have one

Trying to stop or slow down the progression of male pattern baldness

            Loss of muscle mass.

            To fix low testosterone

Maybe they are not trans but want to be more feminine looking.

In short: Femboy is about presenting as a very feminine man, men doing that can include trans men.

Slightly longer: It’s why there are different categories for sex, gender assigned at birth, gender identity and gender expression. A femboy would identify male and express feminine. The opposite is a tomboy, somebody who identifies as female and expresses in a masculine manner, both are not necessarily linked to the individuals sex and/or gender assigned at birth.

Trans refers to a different gender identity than the gender assigned at birth and doesn’t come into play here.

      Basically, Anon is a moron.

Yeah a cis dude might get testosterone if his normal testosterone is low. I assume there’s something similar for women. I don’t think that’s what this guy is talking about though.

It’s fairly common for women to start taking estrogen post menopause because their estrogen levels drop, and that can cause issues like losing bone density. I believe HRT was originally developed specifically for that reason, and it was only later that they tried using it to treat gender dysphoria.

But in this case, they specifically call out being a femboy on HRT, which I think pretty clearly says that they’re on estrogen for that female figure. Whether it’s DIY or just informed consent is anyone’s guess, though.

wonder how some of the greedier telehealth hrt providers (not naming names but it’s all on Google) would react if someone straight up said “I’m cis but want to be more attractive to a certain demographic, gimme the femboy pills”. I’d give 70/30 they’d eventually agree.

p.s. personally I think hrt should be maximally cheap and sold over the counter.

I know a straight cis femboy who wants to take HRT - I dont fully understand it, but I respect its his right to do what he wants with his body and identify however he pleases.

Some people just want more customization options I guess

Think some HRT femboys do consider themselves cis. At that point tho imo it’s just a matter of personal labels since they are definitely non conforming

Had this friend who swears he was straight. But. He loved dicks, coz they’re “so aethetical” and despised vajayjays coz “they’re disgusting axe-wounds”. When i dared saying he sounds more gay than straight he was furiously pissed and in the end quit the friendship coz I’m just “straightphobe” and seeing gays everywhere.

I didn’t really know - being a logical being - how to react to all of this. He was dead serious. Even offered to suck me off and got pissed that i declined due to not being bi nor gay.

In hindsight it kinda was funny. Though also supersad, seeing him THAT delusional just because we are the remnants of a generation brought up with hate for gays. I didn’t really cared about his sexual preferences. He was a great dude. Yet he’s gone due to this repression of such a trivial matter.

I still can’t either… Then again, people really believe some fantasy-stories about some omnipotent god and his son’s adventures on earth. So why shouldn’t one believe one is straight, despite all sign one is not. At least it would make more sense than most cults stories 😁
