After three years in my current apartment on the countryside I got an offer to a beautiful apartment my hometown (small city of about 13.5k people). As Miez enjoys her (limited and supervised) garden time here I took care that I have my own garden there. While I pack boxes Miez watches closely.

An empty chest, the cat trap is working

Eine leere Truhe muss sofort inspiziert werden

Yesterday a buddy of mine helped disassembling the kitchen. Even though she doesn’t like the noises of the cordless screwdriver, from time to time she came to us to demand her pets.

You can tell she isn’t too happy about all the time I spend not petting her.

However she is really grateful when I do.

Sometimes she even falls asleep on my lap now, which is really rare.

Have a good move and adjustment to your new home! Miez reminds me of a cat clock in the video

A cat can or will be stressed in a new home. My cat after we need to take him out to the vet returning home will inspect every corner of the house to make sure everything is safe. He also does this when even moving some furniture. I hope your cat will adapt ASAP.

Yeah Miez is really sensible to changes in my daily schedule. I mean she can cope with me not being there when I can’t work from home, but she really doesn’t like when I’m home and disturb her routines by packing and moving furniture. I make room for her as much as possible like keeping the cat tree on the balcony up. This helps her a lot as she can lie there and watch me through the closed door (there are two others) so she doesn’t hear the noise. I make a point in taking my time for her in the evening and only watch TV with headphones so it’s quiet for her.

I had just moved from the city to a village and my cat is still adapting. Mornings and evenings he’s walking about meowing and every time he’s peacefully sleeping on the couch is precious.

It has some upsides, he likes having access to the outside so much he lets me put a harness and leash on him. Now we go on little walks every night.

Miez also accepts a harness. However it is difficult to walk with her if it isn’t on a narrow path she can follow. Also it gets tricky when there is a dog.
