    I think the only sort of deal that Hamas would be interested in working out with the US would be for the US to stop supplying Israel with arms (which we should be doing anyways). However, given Democratic leadership’s weird-ass infatuation with giving Israel anything it wants, that doesn’t seem like it would happen. We definitely should try to work something out separately though, since it’s obvious that Netanyahu will torpedo any potential deal that might come up anyways.

    several US officials told The New York Times this week that Netanyahu is “seeking to run out the clock until the American election” to secure a ceasefire deal that would release the remaining captives held in Gaza.

    The officials also suggested that Netanyahu might face less pressure to make concessions for an agreement if Republican nominee and former US President Donald Trump wins the presidential election in November.
