There have been a few instances already. On top of my head, there was the comic strip where Gus invites Matt on a date, but I think I remember at least a few more.

There was one recently that implied it, joking about all the pairings having one person being “a troubled soul with a dark past” and then a few panels of Gus and Matt, then Matt saying “what, I had to retake a grade twice.”
