Hey asshats, remember when this exact thing happened in the US and the result of binding arbitration was that safety was undermined? I’ll bet the people of East Palestine remember.

Let’s not make the same mistakes. Give the teamsters their damned fatigue protections, and pay them a good living wage.

I kinda have to agree with Singh on this one. It’s hard to see this move as anything other than anti-worker

Kinda proves the NDP are the only option for a pro-worker government. The Liberals won’t save us.

If only the NDP had made electoral reform a part of their deal to support the liberals. None of the other parts of the deal mattered - they could easily do all that and more after winning the next election. But instead, we get a bunch of half measures and they don’t have a chance at winning a majority.

Ah, because you’ll be offering workers a fair pay raise? Or because you’re hoping the strike is ruled illegal and the plebs are forced back to work?

No one can force them to work. CUPE called the government bluff in Ontario and they shat their pants. Unless you can rehire the whole org, you can’t do shit and putting people behind bars or bankrupting them is gonna be a terrible idea.

They could, but the railway companies would legally be allowed to fire and replace striking employees.

The railroads would just hire tons of foriegn workers and throw safety out the window to speed up training. And our government would let it happen because it is the “only way” to fix the strike.

They are already doing that, just like every other industry.

And less than 48 hours later… The union serves strike notice. These greedy fucks are going to get what’s coming to them.

In the old days, greedy fucks who tried to break the union ended up getting dragged from their homes in the middle of the night and beaten to death on their front lawns, often in front of their families. So, like… That’s your history lesson for the day.
