Look at fucking Trudeau and Poilievre. WW3 is looming, China is bring openly aggressive. Russia is actively attacking the soverignty of the Baltic nations and is razing Ukraine. The western provinces are burning and in severe drought. The eastern provinces are dead husks rife with corruption.
Their top priorities are selling bitumen to China and gifting full citizenship to illegal immigrants, not even vetting them.
They don’t care because to them every disaster is a money making gold mine, even if they have to burn their shoes to keep warm.
Im trying to think of a more reductive argument - that of reducing the future of the species to economics - in human history.
