Police in Los Angeles have cleared out a pro-Palestinian encampment at the University of Southern California (USC).

Officers in riot gear moved into the site early on Sunday, as USC warned those who did not leave that they could be arrested, according to CBS, the BBC’s US partner.

No arrests have been reported, and USC President Carol Folt thanked the police and campus security for clearing the camp “as peacefully and safely as possible”.

In a statement on Sunday, Dr Folt said action had to be taken because the encampment was disrupting exams and preparations for commencement ceremonies, and the situation was “spiralling in a dangerous direction”.

“My goals were to prioritise safety and return our campus and our surrounding community to normalcy,” she said.

This is how you know the “moderates” support of BLM was bullshit.

They don’t care about civil rights, they just used the movement to hurt republicans and boost their own donations. Because it helps them, they’ll never actually work to fix anything permanently in regards to protest

And they always come down harder on the left than the right.

I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

I’d like to take this moment to remind you of the good news that Rush Limbaugh is dead.

They’ll “support” it as long as it doesn’t inconvenience them in any way, shape, or form.

        That’s basically what MLK said.

They’ll say they agree about how things should be, but actively work against anything that might fix shit because change is uncomfortable.

No matter what a moderate says, “someday” is only going to come if we force it.

We’ve been waiting 80+ years for moderates to decide we’re ready for universal healthcare, they’ll never say it’s time for change until they can’t stop it.

We used to just call people that fought against change for the sake of it conservatives…
