Entertaining, albeit disappointing, series in Seattle. Manoah’s appearance yesterday - 5.1 IP, 3 ER - was definitely an improvement over his Padres start.
It looks like Ohtani will start against the Jays on Friday

Didn’t catch the game, but can you comment on what may have contributed to Manoah’s better start?

Was it better control, slider sliding, or maybe Seattle getting BABIPed? Hoping it was something that sticks

I wasn’t watching super closely, but Manoah’s command was definitely better than his last outing, above and beyond the Ump’s pretty pitcher-friendly strikezone. He gave up 4 walks, but Buck thought 3 of those were good decisions to throw sliders off the plate. Sorry I can’t provide more deets

As we get closer to first pitch, the number of innings that I predict I, myself, will last tonight (before I fall asleep) is decreasing. I think I might open the game for 1.0 IP :P

Hopefully, La Máquina’s good for 5 or 6! (That’s Berríos by his nickname, “The Machine” ;)
