Sony, with the 5 V, will probably target the iPhone 14, which is more popular than the 14 Pro, and compete with the Pixel 8 and the Zenfone 10, and leave the 1V as the full featured flagship like the 14 Pro Max, Pixel 8 Pro, S23 Ultra…

Small consolation price : 5 V may be cheaper than 5 IV

So much complaining about cutting it to 2 cameras, but honestly the only camera I care about is the 1/1.35" Exmor T sensor. As long as they have that, I don’t really care about the second camera. If they’re moving downmarket and this comes with a price cut, i’ll be even happier.

Although I would prefer the 2nd one to be the telephoto, not ultrawide. I usually use Panorama mode and snap a pic as wide as i want.

zero chance of that. Periscope zooms take both the most money and physical space.

very strange downgrading to two cameras, better come with a serious price cut if it wants to compete… love my 1 v but the 5 series usually hasn’t been a big downgrade

it does seem especially weird because the 10 V is even lower tier but has 3 cameras. Although the other 2 cameras are pathetic little 8MP 1/4" things.

Still on my Galaxy S9 for now, but I’ll be watching for the release of this one. I flatly refuse to buy any phone that does not have a 3.5mm jack, and so far it seems Sony and Asus are the only two players left in that space.
