This seems like the sort of thing AI does better than people. I’m good with it.
Hopefully we keep some human doctors around too though. I recall when automated customer service kinda helped at first but then one day pressing 0 no longer brought you to a person.
Hopefully they sort out the data biases before releasing these things to underserve women and POC (since studies and diagnostic criteria are typically heavily focused around white men)…
But I’m not going to hold my breath, and certainly won’t be using one until that’s been sorted. This is the sort of thing AI could potentially do better than people, but if the training data sucks, it won’t.
I don’t know how much of a choice you’ll get. It probably won’t be you and the AI, but rather you and the doctor/healthcare professional using AI.
