Wow that must be so heavy and cozy! I wants it, precious!

Must have taken ages too, or at least, this would take me ages so I assume it does for other people too lol.

Basically a weighted blanket! Almost 20 lbs 😁

Ended up going faster than you’d expect, started in March. Hid all the WIP stuff in another room, so it felt like I was starting a fresh project every couple of days for most of it

Wow that is good progress! Especially if wherever you are has had the hot weather, oof.

Love that tactic although I guess the downside would be having to join everything at the end instead of as you go. Still, anything that tricks the brain into being excited for making progress! 😄

Love it. I definitely misunderstood that those were corners folded over and was about to ask how you did those cut-in squares against the field pattern.

Worked as 2 blankets using the same pattern, then ran a final border around the edge to join them. They aren’t super securely attached right now.

Thinking about going back to add an extra line of something along the border of each square to join the sheets extra strong

Thanks, that’s what I thought you might have done but it doesn’t look heavy enough to be 2 blankets put together.

to add an extra line of something along the border of each square

So rather like tie quilting? Sounds like a great idea to stabilize the blanket for long time use.
