“my kid” is more natural sounding and indicates parenthood a bit more obviously.

Reuse of the punch line within the setup diminishes the tension. Subsequently the payoff is less effective.

The punch line is that “son” and “sun” sound the same. “my kid” isn’t a reuse of the punchline any more than “my boy” is, but it reads less awkwardly.

“My boy” is perfectly acceptable too. Might be a regional thing but it does exactly what you said.

Encyclopedia [Medium: Success]: A solar eclipse, an astronomical phenomenon, occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking all or a portion of the Sun’s rays from reaching the Earth’s surface. This event captivates observers worldwide, blending science with awe-inspiring spectacle.

Inland Empire [Heroic: Success]]: No, this is a creative brilliance encapsulated. Do not sully it with trivia.

Did I just see someone do a Disco Elysium skill check in the middle of Lemmy?

        Well played.

Kind of funny how the critics never post dad jokes.
