Love that paintjob & graphics. Is that Dakar Yellow (same as on the E36 M3)?
According to this site … it is a variant of Dakar Yellow but I don’t know if it were exactly the same

But the paint scheme and graphics were original from the factory as this was a ‘racing’ paint style they featured for this model from that year.
And yes, I love the paint job myself and as a rider of old bikes … I’m just amazed that I can ride this machine.
Messed up and posted on the wrong place … I was supposed to put this in the post your ride thread … I’ll leave it here … let me know if breaks any rules and I can take it down.
Thanks for this sub by the way.
Every thread is a post your ride thread!
Thanks for sharing. This is a hell of a machine!
I’m an old rider … and she’s an old German lady I call ‘Lotte’ … and we both take it easy and sometimes when I stop during my ride, I just love looking at her and just be amazed that I can ride a bike like this … when it was new, it must have gone for about $20,000 (or more in Canada) … plus add to that the hard case luggage that it came with and that’s another $1,000 extra … at those prices, it’s almost the price I paid for in 2000 for a small property I bought!
But that’s the beauty of old Beemers … reliability … Lotte will probably outlast me in the long run.
Here’s an original review of the bike from 1998
