    Wow, honestly thought it would never happen. That said I’m generally quite happy with the Tesla integrated system, but never hurts to have choice.

    And all at a time when the dinosaur auto makers are talking about removing CarPlay from their vehicles to move to in house subscription models.

      Just to clarify, this is not about CarPlay, but for AirPlay support, allowing for high bitrate audio to be streamed from the phone to the car.

      Currently the only option for high bitrate is through USB and possibly Tidal, as Bluetooth and the streaming options are lower quality.

      You can use CarPlay/Android Auto if you hack together a weird setup through an external box, the web browser, and Bluetooth. But it is janky.

      The subscriptions are a pittance compared to the money they’ll make from the data-mining.

        I’d really like some metric of how much the mined data is worth in real dollars. I always see that it’s incredibly lucrative but I’ve never seen a site or a real world dollar estimate of what it’s really worth per person.

        My data is unlikely to be worth much. Not sure which parts are so valuable to others.
