The book is The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey, founder of the Church Of Satan, an atheistic Satanist organisation inspired, according to LaVey himself by the author Ayn Rand and the book ‘Might Is Right’, neither of which are the most progressive of inspirations.

Church of Satan, the athiest organization one, not one believing in a real spiritual entity.

The Satanic Bible is a collection of essays, observations, and rituals published by Anton LaVey in 1969. It is the central religious text of LaVeyan Satanism.

So if my understanding is right, they saw the problems with religion, and started their own religion?

It’s definitely up for debate on whether principles strictly prohibiting theism constitutes a theism itself, but yes and furthermore they claimed religious iconography specifically to upset religious people and get religious icons banned in public places. The earlier Levayan Satanism especially went above and beyond for their outfits and rituals.

LOL. I had two J witnesses come to my door earlier today.

I went to the door because the dogs were very excited. As I pulled up the window blind next to the door I saw two young men wearing the uniform holding bibles. As I shooed them away and closed the blind I saw them happily waving back and heard them saying something about Jesus.

      Tenet IV:

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.

Bro can post what they want and you have no say in the matter.

But you just said everyone has a say? j/k

More seriously though, I don’t like this “cosplay as a negative Christian” thing some atheists do, either. Let’s focus on being rational and moral, not on undoing Christianity in particular.

The Christian nationalist movement in the US is presently trying to unmake democracy and force Christianity (specific denominations to be decided later) into our public circles.

I think normal codes of conduct are suspended for utilitarian ones.

The Mormons and Catholics are so fucked if Christianity ever takes over. That temporary alliance is going to break and the evangelicals will turn on them.

Levayan Satanism is a 1969 precursor to The Satanic Temple, both are athiest organizations fighting for personal freedoms.

Either everyone can preach or nobody can, those are the laws.
