Can a swarm of two-pound drones, even thousands of them, defeat 500 tanks and 650 fighting vehicles as they attack behind a wall of artillery fire? We may find out.
Still doesn’t mean “massed” is correct, and it’s weird to use here. Never understood why one would go out of one’s way to present an incorrect argument.

synonyms: accumulate, assemble, amass, collect, gather, gather together, draw together, join together, marshal, muster, round up, mobilize, rally
If it was massed, (I’d prefer amassed), wouldn’t it be better as "Russia have massed…?
