Ah yes, peacefully pushing for reunifcation of a province (that’s already highly independent mind you) over a course of multiple decades.

Totally the same urgency as settler colonialism and genocide.

You imperialist, sinophobic liberals are embarassing. You just want your computer chips and US supremacy. Never mind the horrid factory conditions in Foxconn, a Taiwanese company btw.

We saw what you did to Ukraine, it will not happen to Taiwan as well, they deserve better than a proxy war with their countrymen.

Russia, Iran and China are regularly correct when they’re criticising the West tbh. It’s an easy way to score points that can’t really be countered.

In this case, ‘the West’ has been calling for a two state solution since the 1940’s…

Though their actions haven’t ever actually supported it. If the US and EU had sanctioned Israel, for example after the land grab of 1967, they could have forced a state on 1967 borders, if not 1948 borders. But instead they’ve just been giving them weapons and cash that has fueled the genocide instead.

It’s not like China’s has done anything more than public statements either though. China is one of Israel’s biggest trading partners after all.

China is sending aid to Gaza, is pressuring regional partners to stop infighting, and Chinese weapons are “accidentally” ending up in Palestinian hands. Chinese shipping is blatantly showcasing the viability of Yemen’s sanctions by restricting shipments to Israel in exchange for transiting the Red Sea (putting the ships at risk of getting caught in a US/UK strike). China, in general, has a policy off no-military-intervention outside of it’s immediate vicinity and hasn’t fired ammunition at an enemy since the fall of the Soviiet Union, and hasn’t fought at scale since 1979. China does not express its power with “who has a bigger stick.”

Are we also forgetting that China mediated the Iran-KSA rapprochement, which had direct implications on the Israel-KSA relationship?

You can look at it from the other side as well: if the US, Europe and the USSR had sanctioned the Arab neighbours around Israel instead of giving them weapons to attempt their genocides of '48, ‘67 and’ '73, we could ba a lot closer to a two-state solution

But they didn’t so here we are

People who say “rare China W” you can tell they get all their news from “lets all buy NFTs and do whatever the rich want us to do” publications.

China has been hitting W after W after W after W with no signs of stopping. So many Ws you have to actively try not to see at least one.

They do own. Just because one side reneged on the agreement when it was their turn to pay doesn’t make their ownership any less valid. So many of you are “lets just let the US do whatever the fuck they want, even if it breaks every law and treaty in the process” and it shows.

And for a lot of those countries, China is easily the lesser of two evils. Says more about us in the West than about them though.

Israel is a strong US ally, this would weaken Israel and thus the US, which is their main geopolitical rival. That’s all there is to it, simplistic zero-sum thinking, just like the rest of their diplomatic efforts. They are using their troll armies to prop up Hamas for the same reason.

China understander has logged on to remind everyone that the US will keep meddling in Chinese affairs.

Considering much of your “western democracy” was built on imperialism and slavery, it seems like its easier to bully China than to do self reflection.

The biggest problem is that America and Europe have lost their entire moral high ground.

Every single criticism about human rights violations from the West can now simply be countered by a whataboutism pointing to their support of the Genocide of Palestinians.

You say Taiwan they say TaiwhataboutPalestine.

Easy for China to say, means very little as they are not relevant to the conflict, not even indirectly that I know of. Political posturing more like.
