[Ge] was completing a residency at the Public Health Agency of Canada. His research has focused on Indigenous health, anti-racism and decolonization.

I feel his research would make him extra qualified to call references to modern apartheid and settler colonialism.

I actually thought he is Arab but he is not. That’s even worse than I thought…

I respectfully disagree. It should not matter whether or not he is Arab

Apparently people speaking about equity and diversity issues have to be transgender, bisexual, a person of colour, Arab, AND Indigenous, otherwise they are disqualified to speak about any human rights cause.

Not to mention pretty much every Palestinian in Gaza is ethnically Semitic…

Meanwhile Israel doesn’t even report the ethnicity of Israelis. They just label them “Jew” or “Arab” (the use Arab for any religion other than Judaism) and pretend someone that converted yesterday is now Semitic today and entitled to live in Israel. Literally, if you convert you can get Israeli citizenship and you’ll have your ethnicity listed as “Jew” on Israeli documents.

Unless you were born in Gaza or West Bank. In that case even if you convert and marry a Jewish Israeli citizen, you still don’t become an Israeli citizen.

Because their government doesn’t want to acknowledge that religion isnt the same as ethnicity. If they did, they’d lose the entire excuse about it being their land ancestrally.

Theyre not starting from a logical position, so nothing else about it is ever gonna make sense.

Like most far right authoritarian governments, they say whatever helps in the moment and don’t care if there’s any logical consistency.

It’s interesting, because this is almost exactly the same inconsistency the Nazis used to practice.

Yep, any far right authoritarian government does that shit.

Half the people the nazis killed in concentration camps werent even Jewish. They hated anyone that was “different” by any number of metrics.

Just like Israel’s far right government doesn’t just hate Muslims from Palestine, they hate Christians or any other religion just as much.

Muslims are just the group the least amount of powerful people care about, like how the Jewish people were in that position 80 years ago.

They always start with the population that has the least defense, but they’ll expand their targets as soon as they think they can.

Like old school KKK in America, they hated a lot more than just Black people in their hey day, but as they lost power they stopped going after the other groups and now focus on the ones with the least defenses/support.

It’s important for people to know this shit, because history shows us people keep falling for it.
