A splash of giant tiger/dollar stores too

Canadian tire almost everything goes on sale for 75% off at some point just give it some time.
Princess auto will have random shit at good prices from time to time.
Costco is consistently cheap. Get most groceries from there and fill in groceries from other places.
Computer parts there isn’t anywhere good anymore, just have to search pcpartpicker.com
Amazon is good for odds and ends, as long as it is free shipping.

We’re getting a Memory Express sometime this year. That’s something, at least.

I am hyped for a memory express. I have bought from them online a couple times, but much prefer to be able to grab things in person.

They also do price matching and offer a lot of expertise. Definitely beats a best buy situation
To its credit, Costco also has a reputation as a good employer. Source: three buddies who work there.

I can vouch for Costco, I’ve been with the company going on 29 years now. Stock price when I started was about $11 now it’s around $560 and they have split twice. It really is an amazing company to work for. I know some people can’t justify the membership price but if you get gas alone it will make up for the cost of the membership. We always have new and exciting items. Tons of coupons and special coupons for Executive Members. You don’t really have to spend much to get a nice rebate cheque from either the no fee credit card or the executive membership. Clothing is another area that is really good. Brand name items like Carhartt, Champion, Levi’s , CAT, and Kirkland brand items are better than the brand name items and less expensive. Thank you Cheers 🍻
Woah woah woah la you are forgetting peavey mart specials, they got some damn good deals sometimes. But ONLY sometimes
Really depends what you are buying. We primarily use Costco. Then superstore. Then Amazon.

I don’t find amazon cheap across the board, there are spaces where it is worse than anything.
Costco, Walmart, Superstore and Dollarama (not Dollar Tree, CBC did an article)
I’m not familiar with Giant Tiger, never been.
I'm not familiar with Giant Tiger, never been.
If you remember Bargain Bin, Fields, or Saan, it’s very similar to those stores.
Oh sweet, I miss the Saan Store in Red Deer. It’s been a loooong time. And I’ve been to a Fields in Meadow Lake. Thanks for your help. I think I’ve never gone to a giant tiger partly because of the branding being so unfamiliar to me. I never see ads for them either. I’m probably not their target market.
It’s not particularly good or bad. Once in a while there’s a nice shirt or pants, but the prices aren’t much better than Walmart, imo. But it’s an interesting place to go snoop around in. Has some unique stuff you might not see in the other big box stores.
They have like a lot of random shit that you wouldn’t expect. Like a bunch of that “umbra” home decor stuff for example that you’d see at like indigo the last time I was there but for $20 instead of $60 for the items
Amazon can be crazy expensive, I really only use it for exotic things because there is almost always a better price in a store.
If you have your eye out for something in particular, download the app called Flipp. Search the item you want and it’ll give you stores around the city with deals.
Groceries would be from No Frills.
FreshCo I find comparable and less of a shithole
Frescho is lit
Lol yes I often price compare the two, freshco more often has items in stock.
Gotta get those no name chips from No Frills. Plus can’t go wrong with $5 chicken nuggies
London Drugs is another option. I quit Walmart and Amazon, but when I was still using them, LD was often comparable if not better prices.
As with everything, it depends. Certain hygiene products are far more expensive there than anywhere else.
Shoppers, surprisingly, does quite well with most hygiene products.

Bianca’s on occassion. Uncle wieners, and now that new Bins place.
The last two parts I needed for my car were more expensive on Amazon/eBay than on Canadian Tire and Parts Source.
I like winner’s/homesense for home decor.
